• had sex with another man in the preceding 5 years?

• injected drugs (IV, IM, subcutaneous) for nonmedical purposes in the preceding 5 years?

• received human-derived clotting factor concentrates?

• been engaged in sex in exchange for money or drugs in the preceding 5 years?

• had sex in the past 5 years with any person who has risk factors or who is known or suspected of being HIV infected?

• been exposed in the last year to known or suspected HIV-infected blood through percutaneous inoculation or through contact with an open wound, nonintact skin, or mucous membranes?

• an inmate of a correctional insitution?

• known or suspected of being HIV positive?

• injected drugs (IV, IM, subcutaneous) for nonmedical purposes in the preceding 5 years?

• received human-derived clotting factor concentrates?

• engaged in sex in exchange for money or drugs in the preceding 5 years?

• had sex in the past 5 years with any person who is suspected, known or who has risk factors for being HIV infected?

Has the child have been breast fed by the mother within the past 12 months?

Has the donor had a repeatedly positive screening assay for HIV-1 or HIV-2 antibody?

• diagnosis of AIDS?

• unexplained weight loss?

• night sweats?

• blue or purple spots on the skin or mucous membranes suggesting Kaposi's sarcoma?

• unexplained lymphadenopathy lasting > 1 month?

• unexplained temperature > 100.5°F (38.6°C) for > 10 days?

• unexplained persistent cough and shortness of breath?

• opportunistic infections?

• unexplained and persistent diarrhea?

• male-to-male sexual contact?

• sexually transmitted disease?

• needle tracks or other signs of parenteral drug abuse?

• other evidence of HIV infection or other high risk behavior?

Is the recipient's risk of not receiving the organ greater than the risk of HIV transmission and disease?
