Is the neonate large for gestational age both in size and weight?

• hepatomegaly and/or splenomegaly?

• respiratory distress syndrome?

• hypertrophic cardiomyopathy?

• signs of hypoglycemia?

• hypocalcemia?

• hypomagnesemia?

• hyperbilirubinemia?

• polycythemia?

• hyperviscocity?

• fracture of the clavicle or humerus?

• shoulder dystocia?

• nerve palsy following injury to the brachial plexus, phrenic nerve or other nerve?

• forceps-related head injuries?

• signs of perinatal asphyxia?
