Is the patient taking high doses of the fish oil?

Is the fish oil therapy being supervised by someone familiar with its use?

• easy bruisability or a prolonged bleeding time?

• elevation of serum LDL or other blood lipids?

• evidence of vitamin A intoxication?

• evidence of vitamin D intoxication?

• vitamin E deficiency?

• gastrointestinal distress?

Is the patient is taking aspirin, coumadin or other therapy affecting the coagulation system?

Does the person have a disease making the patient hypocoagulable?
