American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Criteria for the Diagnosis of Takayasu Arteritis

Age of the patient at time of disease onset

Does the patient experience fatigue and discomfort in one or more extremities which worsens while the extremities are in use?

Does the patient have a decreased pulse in either or both of the brachial arteries?

Systolic blood pressure in left arm

Systolic blood pressure in right arm

Does the patient have bruit over one or both subclavian arteries?

Does the patient have a bruit over the abdominal aorta?

Is arteriography of the aorta or its major branches abnormal, with narrowing, aneurysms and/or occlusion?

Does the patient have ischemic retinopathy?

Does the patient have episodes of severe hypertension?

Does the patient have signficant aortic valvular insufficiency?

Does the patient have an aneurysm of the aorta or a major branch, not due to atherosclerosis?
